The Black Horse is steeped in history. The building is believed to be dated back to the 16th Century, when horse trading took place in Bosworth. The horses were thought to have beeen put through their paces between elm trees which once stood outside the Inn.
Over the years various house dwelling properties have been added to the existing building. In November 2005 we opened the doors as a fine dining restaurant. Although we have added a warm contemporary feel to the restaurant, the same original features and charm still exist.
We are located close to the Bosworth Battlefield, which is famous for the end of the War of the Roses - the famous battles between the House of York and the House of Lancaster.
The War of the Roses ended when Henry Tudor, a Lancastrian, defeated King Richard III, a Yorkist at the battle of Bosworth Field on 22 August 1485. Henry Tudor became King Henry Vll of England and Wales.
